Begin the day with a memorable city tour featuring some of the highlights in Canada’s birthplace! View rolling farmlands, stunning seascapes, tiny villages and bustling harbours along the Green Gables Shore (scenic drive) as we get ready to tour the North Shore area. Brief photo stops at quaint little fishing villages and the world class – Cavendish Beach.
Tour Green Gables House: this old farm site inspired L.M. Montgomery’s first novel, Anne of Green Gables published in 1908. Enjoy lunch at the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company(not included), a converted 1912 butter factory showcasing some of the islands best products and preserves.
Next, see first- hand what the Dunes Studio Gallery and Café has to offer… Shop in the Gallery, featuring an extraordinary collection of fine Canadian craft, visit the local potters in their studio to see works in progress and daily ongoing demonstrations. Peruse the Island Art Gallery’s stunning collection of artwork from some of Prince Edward Island’s leading artists. Explore the graceful elegance of The Dunes’ extensive gardens.
As we head back to Charlottetown, disembark the vehicle to capture the perfect pictures at Dalvay by the Sea, a summer resort hotel since the 1930’s and Covehead Lighthouse, located at the east end of Prince Edward Island’s National Park .
