Your tour stops will be made, to tour on your own, at National Historic Site Green Gables Heritage Place. The farmstead that inspired Anne of Green Gables bestselling novel by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery; published in 1908. InBook for PEI real life, this farm was the home of David Jr. and Margaret McNeill, who were cousins of Montgomery’s grandfather.

For a leisurely riverside lunch (not included) the coach will stop at Prince Edward Island Preserve Company, located in New Glasgow, one of Canada’s prettiest villages. No trip to PEI is complete without tasting their prpreserve companyeserves. The restaurant onsite is committed to using the highest quality farm gate produce and ingredients are used. Eat in or take-out the choice is yours. If time permits, take a short stroll through the Gardens of Hope, a place of beauty and relaxation.

Our final destination will be the Lake of Shining Waters that inspired L. M. Montgomery at Silver Bush and Green Gables Museum. There is a treasure around every corner. The Campbell homestead, that L.M. Montgomery called the “wonder castle of my childhood”, was built in 1872 by her Uncle John and Aunt Annie Campbell. The first Campbell’s settled here in 1776 and it is still in the Campbell family after over two hundred and thirty years.
