Step back in time with a visit to Jean Pierre Roma’s French settlement of the 1730s and the panoramic views of Brudenell Point.  After a warm welcome and introduction to the site, guests will sample life experiences of yesteryears.   One of Roma’s fishermen will walk his new “crew” through the various jobs involved with catching, cleaning and preserving the valuable cod which fed Europe for hundreds of years.  Some of the new crew members will be required to don the fisherman’s garb and assist to clean, salt and dry the cod on the flakes.  All will be invited to sample the freshly cooked cod.

Escorted by one of Roma’s costumed animators, guests can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the heritage garden and up to Brudenell Point to view the archaeological remnants of the original settlement as well as Scottish buildings from the times of Confederation.

Guests can choose either the hearty homemade soup or seafood chowder, served with fresh bread baked in Roma’s outdoor wood oven.  For dessert enjoy homemade ginger cookies or chocolate cake with crème anglaise.  The meal is rounded off with a cup of herbal iced tea.
